Mike Sullivan

Dedicated Public Servant

Mike Sullivan is a dedicated public servant with extensive experience in local and state government. He currently serves as the Election Director for Kent County, ensuring fair and transparent elections for the community.


His career has also included roles with the Michigan Attorney General’s Office, the Michigan State Senate, and Ada Township, giving him a deep understanding of public policy and governance.


Mike holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in State, Regional, and Local Governance from Grand Valley State University (GVSU).


During his graduate studies, he was recognized with the Excellence-In-A-Discipline Award and the Graduate School Citation for Academic Excellence in Public Administration. He is also a 2021 fellow of the Michigan Political Leadership Program at Michigan State University.

Community Minded

Family Focused

Actively engaged in his community, Mike serves on the City of Grandville’s Zoning Board of Appeals and Tree Board. An Eagle Scout, he continues to give back by volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America.



Mike lives in Grandville with his wife, Carolyn, and their daughter, Emma. His family are parishioners of St. Pius X Catholic Church, and he enjoys spending time outdoors with their yellow Labrador retriever, who often joins him on walks through the city.
